Motorleaf Adds Agriculture Industry Powerhouse to Board of Directors to Guide Corporate Growth and Technology Advancement

Daphne Preuss to Bring Extensive Agriculture Industry and Company-Building Expertise to Motorleaf


MONTREAL – January 29, 2020 – Motorleaf, the innovators behind the AI-based system that creates customized yield prediction algorithms for greenhouse crop growers, today announced that Daphne Preuss has joined the company’s Board of Directors. Preuss joins Motorleaf’s team at a critical time in its growth trajectory as the company looks to ramp up partnership and co-development efforts and fundraising. She will mentor and support Motorleaf’s management with business development, strategic alignment, executive functions and partnership structure.

Preuss founded, built, and served for 11 years as President and CEO of Chromatin Inc, a leading innovator that developed and distributed higher yielding sorghum seed to growers in over 50 countries. In her tenure with Chromatin she built the firm to $40M in annual revenue, acquiring and integrating several seed operations. Prior to joining Chromatin, Preuss was a Professor and Howard Hughes Investigator at the University of Chicago. She served for six years as Chair the NCBI, the NIH's DNA database division, and was a member of BIO's Food & Agriculture Section Governing Board. Daphne has also served as an Executive Board member or Operating Partner leading startups through value inflections and M&A processes, including achieving a high-multiple return for SnapGene, a biology software company.
